95% of "sales" included in the Official chart come from streaming. You might therefore expect the Official No.1 to generally reflect the Streaming No.1 but we can see that's not the case. It's also relatively rare for all three No.1s to be the same - we've marked these occasions in bold.

Of course the main reason the no.1 streamer is not always the official no.1 is because of ACR. Without ACR, Dance Monkey would've been no. 1 officially for the first 3 weeks and Blinding Lights would have been officially no.1 on 2/4/20, 14/5/20, and 21/5/20.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your streaming list is the audio streaming chart since Roses was no.1 on 26/3/2020 because of video streams. I believe OCC also do a combined chart for overall streams BUT it is not chart equivalent whereas I think the audio streams is... though i could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteHi David - yes, that's right this is audio streams which is the nearest equivalent to the singles chart as far as I know
ReplyDeleteGenerally the video streams are only a small proportion of the chart equivalent streams compared to audio streams, but as mentioned above, they can occasionally make a difference.
